Smart Energy Design Assistance

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has a partnership with the University of Illinois School of Architecture to provide technical assistance services to businesses, federal, state and local governments, public schools, community colleges, and public universities and colleges to assist clients who are considering energy efficiency improvements at existing facilities or to enhance baseline design of new facilities.

Energy Performance Contracting Program

Energy Performance Contracting is an innovative arrangement for designing, installing and financing energy improvement projects where the savings achieved by the project are guaranteed to amortize the cost of the project over the term of the agreement.

Illinois Energy Conservation Code Training

Public Act 093-0936 (Illinois Energy Conservation Code for Commercial Buildings) was signed into law in August, 2004 by Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. This new Law requires all new commercial construction for which a building permit application is received by a municipality or county to follow a comprehensive statewide energy conservation code. The Illinois Energy Conservation Code becomes effective April 8, 2006.
